Interested in hiring international students for seasonal work?
Sumeria helps U.S. businesses explore introductions to international Work & Travel agencies. Tell us about your roles and we will discuss whether there may be a practical fit.
A straightforward place to start.
We collect the details needed for an initial conversation. A designated U.S. sponsor makes all required Summer Work Travel program decisions.
Describe your business
Tell us where you operate, the jobs you expect to offer and when the work is available.
Discuss working conditions
Share proposed pay, hours, housing and transportation arrangements, including anything not yet finalized.
Explore an introduction
If the opportunity appears relevant, we can discuss an introduction to an agency for review through its designated sponsor.
What to have in mind.
Exact details can be refined later, but a useful starting point includes the following.
Location
Your business name, address and actual worksites.
Positions
Job titles, responsibilities, number of openings and estimated dates.
Hours and compensation
Expected weekly hours, hourly pay and any significant conditions.
Housing and transport
Whether suitable housing and reliable commuting arrangements exist or need to be explored.
Understanding the process.
What is the J-1 Summer Work Travel program?
A U.S. cultural exchange program for eligible international university students. Participants may work in qualifying temporary or seasonal jobs, subject to requirements managed by designated sponsors.
Does Sumeria sponsor visas?
No. Sumeria does not issue visas, provide immigration sponsorship, issue DS-2019 forms or approve placements. Those program functions are handled by the appropriate U.S. authorities and designated sponsors.
Can any seasonal position qualify?
No. A sponsor must evaluate the specific job and worksite under Summer Work Travel regulations, including the cultural exchange purpose and any prohibited or restricted work categories.
What happens after I submit the form?
We review your details and reply by email if there is a potential basis for a conversation. An introduction is not a guarantee of hiring, sponsorship or approval.
